"Spike-the Resurrection"    by Billy Hiebert MATERIAL: RESIN and ABS pipe HEIGHT:  78 inches The original sculpture was cast in 1970. It spent day and night in full exposure to the elements for many years. Then, somehow it crashed to the concrete. Brittle like glass, especially in the winter, it separated into 6 pieces. Most of the larger parts were left outside, and the smaller pieces were stored inside. Some of the small parts were not seen again until they were discovered in 2012 during some reorganization of stored clutter. After more than 40 years later I thought it was time the pieces got back together. Rather than trying to restore it as it was, I decided to treat the pieces as " found objects" and create a new sculpture compatible with by current thinking.
